Empowering Women through Creating Change and Driving Transformation
Roopa A.C, Dr. Subhadra P.S
Empowering women is a critical catalyst for societal change and sustainable development, driving transformation across communities, economies, and cultures. By fostering gender equality, we unlock the potential of half the world's population, allowing women to contribute fully in various sectors, including business, education, politics, and technology. The objective of this qualitative paper is to cover the general overview of women's empowerment and the link between women's empowerment and change on the social, economic and political change. Some of the areas of focus include economic enfranchisement, political activity, education, health and legal status as well as women's involvement in governance and policy making, leadership and decision making throughout different sectors. It will also seek to establish the problems that women encounter in these sectors including discrimination, violence against women, payment disparity, and resource constraint and the best practices and policies that have been implemented to address these problems. In addition, this descriptive paper throws light on how cultural, social and intersectional factors including race, class, and ethnicity influence women empowerment so as to paint a complex picture on the results. Targets will involve both developed and developing countries since comparison of global trends and country-specific strategies will be made. The results are expected to advance the existing knowledge on gender parity and offer practical recommendations for governments, companies, and non-governmental organisations that fight for women's rights and their right to leadership across the globe.
